Western BOPs gained Rs10 to 20 following quality with
others declining by a similar margin while
a few select coloury sorts in the Below Best
category gained Rs5 to 10; others declined by a similar margin Plainer clean
leaf sorts were Rs5 dearer while others were irregularly easier. Nuwara Eliyas were fully firm
while Udapussellawas were irregularly firm with
better Uvas gaining Rs5 to 15; others were irregular.
Better Western BOPFs showed an improvement gaining
Rs20 to 30 while others were firm and Rs10 to 15 dearer. Below Best category coloury
invoices gained Rs10 to 20 with others irregularly firm. Plainer sorts which commenced firm gained Rs5 to 10 as the sale

were Rs10 to 15 dearer while Uva/Udapussellawas were
fully firm and Rs10 to 20 dearer; poorer sorts were irregularly easier. The Low

KOLKATA
Good demand. CTC all sorts were easier following quality
while Dooars remained unsold. Orthodox earlier teas
met keen competition and appreciated while remainder were
irregular particularly stalky varieties. In the Dust
sale all categories were tending irregularly lower with some withdrawals.
Stronger demand. The few available Brokens were generally dearer while a handful of clean Fannings advanced by Tk10 and more with plainer types
advancing by a similar margin; poorest on offer met very strong demand and
advanced substantially with hardly any withdrawals. CTC Dusts select few of
good liquoring varieties were dearer as were all others and poor end of season
teas.
There was selective demand. Orthodox well made Nilgiris and mediums sold well while remainder
were irregularly lower with heavy withdrawals. CTCs
met fair demand and were irregularly lower. In the Dust sale best liquoring
sorts were irregular around last with finer sorts firm; remainder
were irregularly lower with fair withdrawals.
GUWAHATI
No cable received.
SILIGURI
Good demand. All descriptions were tending irregularly lower
following quality.
There was good demand at fully firm to dearer rates
following quality for the 14,180 packages on offer. BP1s were barely steady
with open leaf types easier while improved PF1s were fully firm to 10cents
dearer and lesser sorts tended dearer with some lines remaining unsold. PF1SCs
were firm to dearer following quality while PFs were
firm on last. PDs were firm apart from the plainest
which were neglected. D1s were dearer by upto 8cents.
All secondary teas were firm on last.
Fair demand with all descriptions generally irregularly easier.
